This gets at something which has bothered me for a while, which is that I think DnD has ran too far from its wargaming roots in a way that does it no favors. It weirdly sells itself short by presenting itself as an Everything Game when it is clearly built to do some things well.

When I read this first, well over a decade ago, it was a curiosity but it also makes you wonder what not just what people you know would do, but what you would do - because can you really know until the moment arrives. Now it is here and I suppose we know.

Moreover, it offers Pritzker a way to tie the most potent attack against Trump w/ indies — that he isn't focusing on inflation and wages b/c he's wasting time harassing his enemies — together with the well-established anti-Trump "resistance" framework that already motivates so much of the D base.
