This is a question that I really like asking authors, what is a book that you wish you had read when you were younger? Alternatively, what book made you go “we can DO that??”

I tend to forget western paperbacks, but some of my favorite artists did work in the field, like these examples by George Gross.

Anyway since I know they won’t see this, I got my dad some locally brewed alcohol-free gin for christmas. How cool is that? I also scored some pine (& other spices) flavoured hot chocolate mix for my SIL, and I’m making a gift basket of fancy dried meat for my FIL (wagyu, lamb, boar, etc)

A really cool thing I did this year is that I had obtained a “gastronomic tourism in [region]” pamphlet this summer, so for my holiday shopping I just flipped thru it, visited the online store of every business that had one, and picked my gifts from there. Turns out there is some COOL STUFF locally

Somewhat related, my graphic design advice is that unless the image is a key point of your presentation, like it’s actually something you need to show people to get the point of your slide across, then don’t use one. Slides need to be functional, not overcrowded and “cute”.
