Not five minutes later after reading about AI fucking up the world and I am filled with hope that the kids are all right in at least two posts.

I don't know how civilization as we know it survives this. It can't. It won't. I am really, really scared for the future. It's like all the potential dystopian scenarios *real authors* have warned us about for decades are all happening all at once. And everyone is too busy chatGPT'ing to care.

We have created a world that values "wanting" something over actually DOING something, that trusts follower count over expertise, that promotes rage over discussion, that ignores nuance and reduces everything to a meme, that rewards laziness and idiocy and punishes creativity, diligence, and skill.

I don’t mean to sound dramatic or anything but everyone needs to pick up a book and start reading. We are living through a major literacy crisis.
