Scott and I did some escape rooms today and while we were waiting for the last one, we decided to check out a cute little cat cafe! I bought a puzzle and set it down to pet cats and another patron thought it was just a free to do puzzle and started doing it. 😂

On a happier note, Scott and I are in Vancouver traveling to attend a wedding. This is the first time in Canada for both of us. We’re currently on a ferry eating poutine. It’s been a good day

Started working at a brewery this week and I won’t lie, it’s been pretty fun. Getting to talk and pour beers, it’s pretty great

I had an interview today for a geotech project manager position and during it I said something about how “yeah, I’m used to going out to site and poking the dirt.” As soon as I said it, I saw the interviewers eyes shot at me and I immediately knew I made the mistake of calling soil dirt.

Picked Pumpkin up and put my face against her head and gave her the ol’ sniffy sniff. Looked at Scott and asked why she smelled like incense. He looks at me like I’m crazy. Then I pick her up and put her head up to his nose and he just goes weird, she does smell like incense. Cat ownership is weird.

I’ve been working the BOP! booth at MagicCons for years now and this was by far the busiest one to date. Between 2023 (when I first started attending MCs) and now, the amount of diversity at these events has grown tremendously. I’m so proud of the work we’re doing and our plans for the future 💖

And I’m home. I sang happy birthday to Scott (it was on the 1st) and we took pictures with the cats. So excited to be home and now it’s time for sleep

Three flights later, I made it to Virginia. Now I just have to drive home

My original flight got delayed to the point I was going to miss my connection. They rebooked me but this one has two layovers. First flight boarded late so I was nervous I was going to miss this connection, got off the plane and ran to my gate and was able to immediately board. Huge relief.

The biggest thing to come out of #MCVegas this year was a changing of the guard. I have, for a long time, been pushing Magic Con to gave a fun badge ribbon culture akin to Gencon or Dragoncon.

I’m so excited for Vegas. I have done my fair share of fangirling over the years but this event, the one person I really really hope I get to meet is Jacob Wysocki. It would make my entire weekend.

I’m pretty sure there’s only a handful of tickets left for the event so if you were debating coming, grab a ticket! You get to hang out with me, Jane, and Cas for an evening and you get boosties to open.
