I did the entire paint job on this, painstakingly patterning and tape masking custom cut vinyl for like, 3 days. I am so, so stoked to be able to show this off finally.

Some old pics of the Shantae Garage Kit I painted and made a custom base for. Chrome gold on the metal, satin pearl on the pants, candy red on the shoes, I love getting to use multiple types of finishes.

This was one biggest, most important props we've worked on in years. I cannot stress the sheer amount of of labor and engineering that goes into a mirror chrome cup with gold accents, and socketed gems, while only weighing 22lbs.

"Selling Out Is Bad" is a valuable concept and despite all the baggage and bullshit and elitism it could contain it's actually really good to reinforce the ideal that having integrity when it matters, especially when it hurts, is what good/cool people do. Should be adapted instead of jettisoned.

There is nothing more embarrassing to me than hearing something describe writing, entertaining, editing, illustrating, sculpting, journalism, photography, modeling, or just ANY ART OR SKILL as "content". Please stop selling yourself short people!

The entire manufacturing side of the SFX industry has gone from specialist-only to available to the average consumer. 3d Printers both SLA and FDM are reliable and quality, likewise on laser cutters and cnc's. microprocessors and LED are absurdly cheap and complex. It's made my career possible.

Nothing new to show off this year at Dragoncon sadly. While I am a little bummed seeing everyone show off new, challanging projects or at the different groups folks put together without me, I think ultimately with the new house causing stress and taking time I regretably made the right choice.

I've long believed that Dark Souls and Yoshi's Island have the same approach to difficulty. In one game, you can organically change the level of difficulty by seeking out harder ways to play or grinding for more resources. The other game is Dark Souls.

Two years ago I worked on the Sword of Fire and Ice for the Magiccon Cosplay Contest Grand Championship. Last year was the Sword of Feast and Famine. I wonder what might be next?

If I'm remembering correctly I spent most of my time on this working on the arms and making sure the parts could all fit together on the PVC frame.

Another trophy I worked on recently was the MSI MVP plaque for League of Legends. A combination of airbrushing and hand painting, I needed to make sure the yellow/orange/purple gradient glowed over a black stone without blowing anything out. It was *really* heavy too!

I recently worked on a trophy for Lorcana! This is actually a gold tinted silver nitrate instead of our normal chroming, meaning you get that same mirror finish better than any paint without the challanges and restrictions metal plating. It's still just as difficult to photograph though.

I've worked on literally over 100 of these Curse Dragon trophies over the years and I have yet to get tired of the way they look.
