Saving Private Ryan is on the TV just now. I always find it very moving but it’s especially heartbreaking now. So many brave Americans of that great generation gave everything fighting fascism and I can only imagine how they would feel now.

The US government and supporters are sharing videos of the shooting that clearly show the Ice agent is guilty but posting these as if proving their innocence. This is a deliberate show of force. "Look, our followers will defend us despite all evidence. Facts won't help you." That is the message.

The US empire can’t keep the lights on, can’t deliver healthcare, can’t stop mass shootings, can’t pass a budget without hostage-taking—yet it claims a mandate to “fix” other societies with bombs. That’s not governance; that’s imperial malpractice dressed up as “responsibility.”

Trump pulls US out of 66 international bodies, including key UN climate treaty
President’s order suspends support for UNFCCC climate framework, UN population agency and other entities The Trump administration will withdraw from dozens of international organizations, including the UN’s population agency and the UN treaty that establishes international climate negotiations, as the US further retreats from global cooperation. Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order suspending US support for 66 organizations, agencies and commissions following his instructions for his administration to review participation in and funding for all international organizations, including those affiliated with the UN, according to a White House statement on social media. i can't stop thinking about how the US's stance is that the US can prosecute foreign Presidents for crimes allegedly committed in the US, but that the ICC and UN cannot do so, and also that the US cannot prosecute *its own President* for crimes committed in the US

Under the Treason Felony Act 1848, it is a crime punishable by life imprisonment to intimidate parliament or encourage any foreign power to invade the U.K. We should be applying this law to every traitor openly calling for the U.S to depose our democratically elected government.

Issue for Labour now isn't whether they break their manifesto pledge on tax. It is whether they do so in a way which is blatant, honest but sustainable - or whether they do so by a myriad of complex and likely insufficient means whilst arguing they are not. Imho, one seems more toxic than the other
