WCCO covered the dire need for rental assistance in Shakopee. The Legislature can and should act. The Senate passed a bill funding emergency rental assistance—with bipartisan support—but House GOP blocked it. This is a common-sense, bipartisan proposal to help MN and I'll continue to support it.

The Starter Homes Act did not pass the House Elections Finance & Government Operations Committee today. This is not the outcome we hoped for. But that doesn't mean the bill is done for the year. There is still a lot of session left, stay tuned for more to come on what’s next.

This result was not what we had been working for - and is also not the end. Minnesotans deserve state level policies that work for them, and we will get there

Who wants to see Minneapolis plow sidewalks citywide? 🙋🏾‍♀️ This January, thanks to City Council leadership, the City launched its sidewalk clearing pilot program to keep sidewalks safe and passable during our toughest winter months. And it’s clear, this needs to be expanded across the entire city.

$40 million could be spent in a myriad of ways in our city to effectuate better outcomes than this training facility. A massive investment in public housing would help our city’s outcomes for low- and no-income families. Investment in free childcare and elder care. The ideas are so numerous.
