Here's what's happening in BC The right is convincing the centre to inject poison pills into policy. These pills cause the policy to fail in predictable ways. Then, use the failure as evidence that doing anything progressive is inherently silly, thus shifting the window further right.

Politics involves compromise, but we have to find ways to compromise that do not fundamentally destroy the policy itself, thus calcifying opposition to the policy for years to come.
