Let me be clear: I have ZERO patience for nihilism about our current affairs. ZERO. I WILL call you out for that sort of attitude and I will lay down the fire on your ass. You’re free to think it. I’m free to call it out. Deal with it.

If this episode of
#FionnaandCake
didn't spell it out but other bits of Adventure Time media have shown that Finn has a death wish as he wants to be with Jake in the afterlife. That colors everything else.

CDC Quietly Turned Off Its Vaccine Search Tool. It’s Not Clear When It’s Coming Back.
“I have heard that they are planning to ‘update it’ and shudder to think what that will mean,” Demetre Daskalakis, a former member of CDC leadership, told NOTUS.

I think it'd be pretty cool if the Blue Jays did vaguely what the Dodgers did last year and say "well, we made a ton of money getting to the WS so now it's time to go after it." Clubs that spend deserve to win, imho.

My mom told her physical therapist she wears a mask because her husband and daughter are immunocompromised. The PT said she is too but isn't worried bc she knows if she dies she is going to heaven. Then her co-worker yelled, “Shut up Debbie you wear a seatbelt and take blood pressure meds” 👀

You're not going to impeach this president unless you elect a shit ton more Democrats. And bitching about Democrats everyday on social media and with every breath you take isn't going to get you what you want. Also if they tried repeatedly, like they have, and you're still suggesting it shut up.

Art. I of the Constitution gives Congress the power to make rules and regulations for the armed forces — including codes of discipline and strictures against following illegal orders. You can’t punish members of Congress for articulating those rules. Also protected by Speech and Debate Clause.

While at the same time attempting to ramp up said legal warfare. It's the fundamental "there are four people running the government and they're all insane rabid racoons fighting in an overcoat" problem where you can't blow up state capacity and then try and use the state to go after people!

Something that I would note is that the Trump administration is doing something really self sabotaging right now, in that it's removed the professionalism and actual bodies necessary to pursue large scale legal warfare against their foes (Lindsey Halligan and Aline Habba? Really?)

The single biggest problem of the Trump administration is that an authoritarian government REQUIRES MORE PEOPLE, NOT LESS. You can't fire 12% of workforce and then go "Huh, lets use the state to crush all dissent! Brilliant!"

We have reached one of the more dangerous parts for the coalition, which is Trump is still popular enough internally with the base that you can't break with him, but not breaking with him probably dooms the party in general elections. Dems won double digit R by PVI races a couple weeks ago.

People misunderstand this but it’s really key for understanding Trump. He fundamentally doesn’t understand or care about anyone else and it’s exasperating when people think the things he says indicate that he can be brought around on some issue. They don’t, the things he says don’t matter to him
