I already spent days here arguing about why Gaza wasn't a genocide, not doing that again. But if the war in Gaza is your primary issue, you're not really all that concerned about democracy in America, you're just another single-issue voter demanding that the world acknowledge you.

I have a couple of notions, might write them down at some point if I can find a job where I can put those ideas on a platform

I remember this, and I remember thinking that Harris was facing almost impossible odds (for many reasons), and yet this is why she gets heckled. I assume that a lot of the folks who didn't vote for her figured they were sharpening the contradictions.

Privilege is believing that when the "fascists" in America win, you can still watch TV in comfort at Mom and Dad's house and no one will bother you because you were so clearly virtuous about a niche issue.

The overwhelming majority of voters couldn't find Gaza on a map or explain anything about it in any way that would hold water for five seconds if their lives depended on it. Half of the people in this country can't name the three branches of government, FFS.

If you're willing to stay out of a coalition to stop Trump because of Gaza, then you're just whining and you don't really believe what that America is in danger: You're just wearing your views the way other people wear designer clothing.

Complaining about Gaza and dreaming about seizing the means of production while American democracy teeters on the edge of a cliff is one of the surest signs of privilege.

Stop complaining to me about it. I'm just telling you: If you make people choose between far right and far left, this country has a lot of people who will (and have) chosen the far right. So don't create that zero-sum situation.
