Everybody wants to get into what Black people are into. Wants to check up on what we're doing that's cool (which is pretty much everything). But they all want it without the Black people. They want our stuff without us. You're not getting our stuff without us. But keep looking for where it could be.

The tendency with stuff like The Metaverse is for the people who championed it to tell a story when it fails about how it seemed like a good idea at the time, nobody foresaw how badly it would fail, etc. It's important to remember none of that is true. Everyone saw in real time how stupid this was.

It wasn't COVID. The country has spent decades getting rid of third spaces, people have grown to *aggressively* detest kids doing kid shit in neighborhoods, and gentrification has made for a shortage of warehouses in seedy areas of town that used to be a haven for partiers and weirdos.

Ireland's private hospitals are glossy, efficient, full of very nice staff who will see you immediately. It's just they pawn off anything complicated to the public system. And a bunch of them just do office hours.
