My songwriting friend and I have this saying⊠âSometimes the song gets there before you do.â What we mean is that often times the writer doesnât know what a song is really about until long after it is finished. Sometimes only in hindsight do we know what we were trying to say.

I'm starting to wonder how much "the male loneliness epidemic" is just straight and bisexual women identifying low-effort, mean, and incompetent men and choosing not to date, marry, and tolerate them anymore

How to tell if you have morphed into a liberal: - he is playing 4D chess! - he has to be nice to reactionaries to accomplish his goals - if youâre so smart why donât you run a communist and win - ok well where is the revolution if thatâs your strategy - real socialism will never happen here

[1/3] The funny thing is, this isn't even the first time we've had a period where AAA computer games have become so bloated and poorly optimised that you can only install like two of them at a time. The last time around it was big-budget point and click adventure games, if you can believe it.

The latest Cloudflare and Amazon outages have got me thinking about utilities. We can't build modern software without dependencies. The days of running entirely on the client are over, which I see as a good thing. The cost is that we rely on infrastructure. 1/5

Oh, I love this. A new species of sea anemone was discovered recently that parks itself on top of a hermit crab shell like a hat. It seems to feed partly off the crab's faeces, but it also excretes a hard shell that extends the crab's home. In return, it's carried around the seafloor like a king.
