transphobic liberals in 2025: "I just think there are conversations that need to be had about the trans sport issue." No you do not. You just use the pretense of "there needing to be a conversation" so you can avoid ever actually having one or engaging with the actual science or with trans people.

Because the thing about trans sports is that those "necessary conversations" have already been happening for literal decades and those "legitimate questions" have answers, you just don't want to actually know what they are if the answers show that you should be supporting us.

The fact of the matter is that the handful of trans women who excel in sports are the exception, but even then their achievements are often grossly exaggerated to stoke right wing fearmongering, and you incurious fools eat it up every single time.

The actual truth is that in every sport trans women have ever been allowed to compete in (Did you know we've been allowed to compete in the Olympics for 25 years?) we have tended to underperform and be underrepresented relative to cis women.

Furthermore, you need to get it through your head that there is nothing inherently wrong with trans women winning sometimes. "Fair" is not a system in which trans women are only ever allowed to lose. We can and should be the best sometimes, and that's perfectly fine.

Sports are a pretty unmatched vehicle for minority groups seeking cultural representation and social progress and it's insane that trans people are just being shut out entirely from that option

I think about this so much with trans kids because when you play sports as a kid you wear the name of your school across your chest and everyone you know is cheering you on--and seeing you as a part of their community--and it's just been decided that no trans kid ever deserves that

I do think there's a way in which society demonizes maleness but it's like a proto-fascist tendency vs reflective of any kind of institutional oppression of Men. i.e. we love our white Christian patriarchs in the US but brown Muslim men are infinitely dangerous and must be destroyed

I think one of the points of contention here is that even the demonized man is subjective -- like the brown Muslim man might be demonized where I grew up but obviously he's experiencing a different reality in his own community

so with like, queer spaces for instance, the idea that men are demonized is like, hm, not really. society at large may declare queer men as predatory and dangerous but within queer spaces they still operate from the position as men

the function of this demonization is ultimately control. the white Christian patriarch hates the brown Muslim man bc only the Christian can exercise control over & exploit his women and children. so you just accuse him of doing what you're doing but worse

Make a serious effort at theorizing trans masc oppression under patriarchy! Every trans feminist I follow, Talia included, has been enthusiastic in encouraging this, if not outright begging for it to be done. You cannot do so with a foundation of transmisogynistic grievance politics.

Trans women should make tmoids feel even less safe to be transmisogynists who demand control of and our denigration in the spaces we build because they can't build any for themselves and demand our labour as political wives for them.
