This administration lied about the people it sent to an overseas torture prison. It lies about the people it’s deporting. It lies every day to gain political advantage. Not a chance in hell they won’t lie about huge swaths of people they suspect might vote for the other party.

So I have the cover story in next month's TNR. I interviewed the heads of police groups; immigration defense attorneys, ex-judges and ex-prosecutors; former DOJ and DHS officials, and the former head of Border Patrol. They're all horrified at what we've seen, and they all fear what's coming.

Trump’s Immigration Nightmare: It Is Happening Here
With astonishing speed, the administration has toppled the most cherished pillars of a free society. And the experts agree: It’s all going to get much, much worse.

These people are nuts. NCAR developed the GPS dropsonde, which revolutionized the understanding of TC structure, improved forecasts, and validated remote sensing platforms, as documented in over 400 peer-reviewed publications in the last 25 years. And that’s just one of NCAR’s countless advances.

This has been unfortunately memory holed, but the impact of the ACA on ability of people to have health insurance was really huge. It basically halved the uninsured rate.

The ACA isn't just "health care for people who don't have a conventional employer." It also disallows something that was incredibly common 20 years ago, which I fear is getting lost to generational memory: insurance companies could deny you health care for essentially any previous health problem.

If you think it’s more likely that someone who didn’t hate Jews was hired by Israeli Jews to murder Jews to move public opinion in favour of Israel, you believe horrible things about the character of Jewish people around the globe, which is a kind of bigotry known as antisemitism.

It isn't a war. If it were, the strikes are still war crimes. The drugs weren't headed to the U.S. The people killed were likely poor, low-level smugglers, not drug lords. Most overdose deaths are from fentanyl. Fentanyl doesn't come from South America. Everything else Marshall says is correct!

Members of Congress did not tell US servicemembers to defy orders. They did not specify any orders they believed were illegal. They simply highlighted the context of their concern and reminded them of a long-standing legal principle in US military law. They are on firm legal ground.

If you receive an illegal order, you have a duty to disobey. This isn’t controversial. A President calling for the execution of anyone who reminds service members of this oath is showing us why the duty to disobey illegal orders is so important in the first place.
