I'm still technically funemployed at Meta after the layoff (for another 6 weeks or so), but I think the proof will be whether their products get better or slowly worse. I'll be interesting to see if their VR and wearables products (glasses and other unreleased stuff) slowly get better or worse.

Yes, it is. They cut courses with "low" enrollments, then cut the majors, then cut the faculty. This same pattern is being repeated across the country everywhere. It's political. The faster people wrap their heads around this the better.

just a reminder that a great way to (mostly) not have to worry about government/org backdoors would be to mandate open source support for all parts of the device.
