That second video has an amazing point that I’ve never heard articulated so well. Fossil fuels are single-use, “one and done.” All that cost and effort to get a gallon of gasoline into your car and then you burn it, destroying it forever.

I swear there's a huge contingency of the general public which simply has not realized the electricity an electric car needs is the same electricity they already have at home.

“Should drivers turn to EVs?” Yes! Absolutely! Almost every use-case for a typical driver in this country can be better met by an EV! “…as the war spikes gas prices?” Sure, whatever. Not the right reason, but fine.

Okay, I just want to point out that if you have been considering an electric car, I would really consider doing that quickly because things do not look good re: oil availability and cost. Used EVs are currently a screaming deal. I have a feeling this will not be the case for too much longer.

I have been daily-driving an EV for three years in *FAIRBANKS, ALASKA* charging almost exclusively on a 120 volt, 15 amp circuit at my house. I have used other charging fewer than 20 times in that span. This isn’t some massive upgrade you need to do!

I charge mine with a regular wall outlet. Does your house have wall outlets? If so, no need to rewire anything!

I can imagine a time when early car owners realized they no longer knew what the price of horse food was. Now my car just uses whatever energy source is cheapest automatically. The concept of taking my car to a place to buy stuff that then just gets burned to make it go seems like a wild idea.
