Oh shit oh golly it's the finale of Quinns Quest Season 2 I could have reviewed other, bigger-name fantasy TTRPGs that would have gotten me more traffic. Instead, I chose to review the one that you should actually know about

design thread for the current prototype and design work i'm making a fairly self-contained dungeon crawling microcosm. for this microcosm of the game, i'm doing two closely interrelated magical energy types. they aren't rigidly attached to damage types.

Been reading the Morgaine books by CJ Cherryh. Really enjoying them, though it’s hard to pin down their overall vibe. I dig the two doomed outsider protagonists though. And their relationship to one another being some insane mix of camaraderie and conflict is very enjoyable.

my thing is even I didn't have a fiery personal grudge against Twitter, I would not use it for the same reason I don't use Facebook - it's a miserable user experience. It's nothing but ads and ragebait and ai slop. It doesn't have to be a moral stance, it's just a shit product

One of the most gorgeous games I've come across in awhile is Vaults of Vaarn. I love these kind of settings born out of a creators' passion for an imagined place. Ultimately, they're some of my favorite things about roleplaying games.

I don't think vast swathes of slums pocketed with a smattering of gated communities would make for a very good society, and yet, seemingly half the population votes in that direction. y tho

We are concerned about the loss of insects, but we live in a fallow desolate land few would recognize; the birds once blotted the sky for hours at a time, the fish so numerous the surface of the waters teemed with them so as to seem like you could walk on the surface. We live in ashes.
