Seems that JD Vance is promoting his college roommate, Daniel P Driscoll, now secretary of the army, to replace Hegsethāso Hegseth is preparing a preemptive strike. What a nest of vipers this place is. And that in the midst of a war. These are the most unserious people ever to sit atop the Pentagon

The budget also calls to cut the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in half. This budget would crush scientific research.

Here is my thread on Trump's budget request, which I'll update throughout the day. He calls to cut domestic discretionary funding to the lowest level in the modern era. Trump's budget reimagines Americans' relationship with our govt, and proposes a country that does less to help people get by.

At the end of the day, Zohran has been mayor for 4 months and has done nothing to really justify the view that heās breaking his promises to trans people. He will probably fall short like most politicians, but the next time you see these attacks try to remember he doesnāt have unlimited power.

I get the impulse to want Zohran to say and do more, but he canāt do more and saying more does nothing. But he did create an office of LGBTQ Affairs since this happen and name a trans woman as its head, so acting like this supposed āradio silenceā means he abandoned us is disingenuous.

The other explanation, which I fear may be correct, is that the winters of '24 and '25 were super mild in NYC, so there were far fewer potholes in the first place, vs this last winter which basically broke every street in the city.
