At this point, best move for Canada would be to deepen ties with the EU beyond CETA. The US is not a reliable partner anymore.

Those that *still* work for ICE are there because: a) they are trigger-happy psychopaths; b) they think of immigrants as pests; c) they cannot find work elsewhere because of their background.

"Who won the 2020 election?" is the sort of question you ask people to ascertain if their brain is functioning. Failure to answer is akin to being unable to address questions like "can you remember your name?" and "what year is it?"

Wurman here argues there is a genetic component to liberalism, which (mostly brown and black) babies of other cultures do not possess. He contends that democracy is a *biological trait* (!!!). Just pure racism at this point.

This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days. ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.

Officers shooting a man, running away from law enforcement, who is not a target of law enforcement, and who poses no threat to law enforcement, is murder. Federal officers do not have the power to commit summary executions because they are aggrieved.

When people say that there is a bias against conservatives in places like the Times that reflects their failure to understand that the Times (like many university spaces) lowers standards to represent right-wing views for purposes of intellectual diversity.

The Democratic Party's approval rating is in the toilet, and the main reason is voters see Dem leaders and prominent members acting like things are basically okay instead of fighting like there's an emergency. Slot "my friend Lindsey Graham, so funny, how great to work with him" comments into that.

Same with Haaland's push/Anderson's dive that took away the tying Norway goal. It's not that any of these VAR calls, in a vacuum, are wrong. It's that there are <dozens of similar things> that are left uncalled & the bias always tilts toward the higher-ranked team, especially when that team is 🇦🇷

The US global dominance in higher ed & scientific innovation was based on strong govt investment and an ability to attract top international talent. Trump is weakening both: "In this century, overall, the émigré fraction for U.S. Nobels in physics, chemistry and medicine now stands at 40 percent."
