While there is still confusion in the air, we're now hearing from multiple affected parties that the draft idea will not proceed, and players will hit free agency with three months of severance pay. But with 12 days remaining in preseason, most rosters are all but full at this point.

I've come to the conclusion that curling is the best Winter Olympic sport to have on at work. It's relatively quiet, you can glance up and get a feel of the situation fairly quickly and it takes a decent amount of time. (For the Summer games, Archery fills that same niche.)

I remain upset the NFL went with Super Bowl 50 and not Super Bowl L.

Children today will never know the thrill of the Bud Bowl. I swear there were years I cared about the outcome more than that of the actual Super Bowl.

This would be one of the biggest shifts in college football that I can remember. North Dakota State has 10 FCS titles, the most of any team. It would be a huge grab for the Mountain West, which is on the backfoot to the PAC-12, and could cause a run out of the FCS by other top teams.
