Two years ago I had my agents ask authors seeking blurbs if they had used LLMs in the writing or research for their novels. If yes, then I won’t read their books. I know I could be lied to. If I am lied to, I will LOUDLY retract my endorsement. I hope more writers might adopt a similar policy.

Writing means writing, but also means being hands-on and eyes-on at every stage of the process, wtf. Writers who don't care about the end product and just want to shuffle something out the door are not writers, and they're not interested in art or storytelling. They just want to get-rich-quick.

As ever, I cannot imagine for the life of me ever wanting to use AI to write a book, just as I don't want AI to live my life for me. Further, I cannot imagine -- as this author claims -- letting an editor just mutilate your work without you ever giving another glance.
