The biggest tell is when they’re like “ai can figure out how to solve the problems.” Ai can’t even do basic math. It can barely answer a complex question. It definitionally cannot solve a problem its training data hasn’t already solved. And they know that. It’s clearly just a dodge.

If one guy holds most of the tech people rely on, it is a vulnerability, but also it's one guy: as a global population we should be able to easily just take it from him, so it seems to me the real vulnerability is an internalized belief that private ownership is more sacrosanct than human thriving.

The most anti-American thing Canada can do right now is going full blast on designing cities around people and funding the hell out of walkability, bike lanes, transit, and a highly functional train system.

Think the tariffs are bad? Keep you eye on what really matters -- how corporations will use this moment to profiteer, and how our govenrment doesn't seem to care enough to stop them.

every commenter on the internet who complains about bike lanes once saw a cyclist pedal through a red light and now uses it as justification for why they should be allowed to run over anyone else on the road

The last day or so has reinforced my belief that there is a sleeping giant in this country: anti-corporate populism that goes hard and hard welcomes the hatred of oligarchs. And it’s waiting for real representation.
