We have to be our own social media managers, CFOs, HR departments, financial planners. These stories matter because they are your stories. /4

We depend on a booming economy to get work: People cut back on the "luxury" of entertainment early on in recessions. We have to perform the *appearance* of success as much as any LinkedIn scrabbler. Our guests are people you've heard of, and they're still pushing themselves to the limit. /3

We're the original gig economy. We're the first ones to feel the burden of censorship in our work. We among the hardest to organize (fist up for actors and screenwriters guilds but think of writers, working musicians, comedians). We struggle for health care, retirement. /2
