btw this "Pirates" feature mentioned on the cover wasn't a tie-in to the Hook movie, or the PotC ride, or a game or brand or anything. They just published a 22-page section about pirates (including an 8-page comic by Bill Messner-Loebs and Tom Mandrake) because kids love pirates.

I had a coworker once who told me that when he was a kid, he read Darkwing Duck as being Black (my coworker was also Black). I asked him if he remembered why and he said, "Because he had so much style".

I owned a copy of this magazine - it's hard to explain how much this hit in late 1991
