New paper from my @cig-uw.bsky.social colleagues on the importance of direct funding to community-led organizations to advance their own resilience priorities. This case study is based on a small-grants program run by the NW Climate Resilience Collaborative, which was terminated by NOAA in May.

An update from the UW Climate Impacts Group on what proposed cuts to NOAA and USGS would mean for our work supporting climate resilience in the Northwest. At stake: both the NW Climate Adaptation Science Center and the NW Climate Resilience Collaborative (a NOAA Climate Adaptation Partnership).

Hours ago, @politico.com revealed that DOGE is working with DHS on automating mass deportation efforts — likely explaining why many US citizens, green card holders, and even a Canadian (in Canada) got threatening emails last night terminating “your parole” and telling them to leave the US in 7 days.

I'm devastated and heartbroken. Staff at the U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) got the ax. Most likely means the Sixth National Climate Assessment (NCA6) is also cooked. USGCRP was the glue across the Federal family on all things climate - reducing duplication and making efficiencies.
