It's highly unusual and aggressive for law enforcement to conduct a search on a reporter's home.

As various groups roll out their analyses of 2025 temperature records today (spoiler alert: it’s hot) , NOAA and NASA are not holding the joint press conference they usually do to announce their recap. Data will be released but without the open chance to talk to agency experts that usually exists.

My take is I think it is to be skeptical of *both* the fear-mongering wellness industry and the industry hiding risks. Microplastics are likely bad for your health, but maybe not to the degree/in the exact ways pop science/wellness said before. (Plastics are also fossil fuels = undeniably bad.)

Past GOP administrations tried to cook the books on deaths, disease caused by air pollution. Usually plays out via obscure EPA advisory panels and periodic 'integrated science assessments.' But this is the first time one has pegged the monetary value of a life saved by lower soot emissions at ZERO.

This orders funding restored for clean-energy grants in 16 states that voted against Trump in 2024: CA, CO, CT, DE, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN,NH, NJ, NM, NY, OR, VT, WA.
