Nice win-win way to phase-out gas: the utility identifies pipelines due for replacement. If it is cheaper to electrify all the buildings served by that pipeline than digging, they pay for electrification. In Belgium, we're still extending the gas network 🙁

I'm having trouble following why the EU changing its NDC from 90% to 85% is being portrayed as this huge, outrageous, watering down of climate ambition. The EU is still doing more than almost anyone else, and is the only place where emissions declined last year, per the UN Emissions Gap Report.
