Without dictating what others find valuable to do, there are basics of human decency that I refuse to remind people in power of, or beg from them to support. I think there’s a real thing there where so much of what we’ve come to colloquially know as “tech” is all specifically “fantasy tech”—tech for a kind of facsimile proxy dream world in social media, VR/metaverse, AI synthetic media, and behind it all an engine for producing hype for the nonexistent.
