"the essay sucks ass" is no doubt true, couldn't be bothered to read it, but consider that the essay may have been written to receive an F in order to instigate a campaign against the trans TA. in any case it's not a great dunk because this isn't about the essay, it's about purging trans ppl

every trans person i see post about the OU suspension knows that the suspended target is trans & a grad student, & has an innate awareness that this is about purging trans employees. every cis person i see thinks the target is a rando professor & that this is about giving conservatives good grades

gwen clarifies further down that it is the trans TA here who has been put on leave. trans ppl and queer ppl in academia have been a major target of right blacklisting campaigns.

The TA is not a professor. I point this out because it’s relevant, there is a major legal difference. The TA is a student and is also entitled to the same privacy as the student who complained. This is a major FERPA violation, the university shouldn’t even be really commenting publicly on this

How do people not see that the entire OU essay thing is just an attempt by this girl and the Turning Point chapter to turn her into another Riley Gaines grifting on trying to push trans people out of society?

as a trans TA, this story makes my blood boil so much. if some conservative claims my grades are discriminating against them, i get to go fuck myself. and any of the trans TAs under me can doubly go fuck themselves bigoted students will be cashing in on this bullshit as long as schools allow.

TP USA is trying to run a harassment campaign to get a trans TA fired for giving a crappy paper from one of their students a bad grade. Attempts to fire trans people from jobs should be seen for what they are--violent attacks on our ability to feed ourselves and stay housed because of who we are.
