A faculty hierarchy primer: Graduate instructors: hybrid class, both students and faculty. Lowest paid by a huge margin. Lecturers/adjuncts: faculty who work on annual or semester contracts depending. Paid poorly, precarious employment often based on leftovers.

it doesn't help that most university boards (the people by whom the administrators are hired and to whom they're responsible) are usually staffed to the gills with the dumbest buisness fucks alive

If you’re not familiar with the faculty vs admin tensions/culture at a Uni, here’s the issue: academia is largely a profession where faculty are mostly independent. We have “bosses” in that tjeres laws & stuff to follow but we mostly do what we want within departmental/college standards

Deadass just delete the syllabus headings and readings and teach them anyway. People need to get comfortable with working the system
