It’s been 5 weeks since NYU Langone ended care. Mamdani’s office has not directed H+H to absorb patients or enforced NYC human rights law against the hospitals stopping care. He also has not answered multiple trans journalists questions on if he will commit to doing so.

Everyone who works for the NYT — including my many friends — should be incredibly embarrassed by this statement. The depths to which the NYT will go to back its agenda of challenging trans people's right to exist is horrifying, ongoing, and has caused very real and specific harms to trans people.

Last year a middle schooler sent an adult to our local TDOV event, the question she sent in to our panelists was, "Why are they doing this to us?" I have lost count of how many times I've thought about that since last year.

So the NYT is so committed to shitting on trans people that when the AMA tried to correct their reporting, they responded by saying they know more about the AMA's position than the AMA itself. That's zealotry.
