People who work at this magazine think it's interesting or counterintuitive or whatever to blame the left for what the right is doing, but when *every single article* posits the same thesis you're not challenging your readers, you are coddling them.

For those of you who care about other humans, it’s time to cut your ties with NYT. Yes, even the games.

As those of us who are familiar with such dynamics are aware: Somebody just pushing their version of events, facts be damned, that's how abusers operate.

For cis folks who haven't been following the NYT / AMA story, the basics are: The NYT has been caught in a typical transphobic lie and the only unusual part is the AMA has sort of pushed back.

Second, they characterized the AMA response to their query as an "announcement," which is inaccurate. The AMA statement also did not "concur with the plastic surgeons" overall. ASPS unambiguously recommended waiting till age 19 for surgery, AMA said, "generally deferred to adulthood" (age 18) /2

Specifically, the NYT story on Feb 4 made it sound like "two groups backed limitations," and then listed them with AMA first, saying the ASPS "took a similar position." This is clearly misleading. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/04/h... /1
