To others sharing responses with other media orgs, sure! Many others do exist. I shared more in my post below, and the list included there was non-exhaustive … In sum: Some newer/online/local/indy outlets are in fact reporting on trans people humanely. Some even hire us sometimes — which is ideal.

I just know if the Trump admin tries to force colleges to adopt a trans bathroom ban, I'm going to have a bunch of cis colleagues saying, you can just use the single stall bathroom! No, I'm not going back. I'm not accepting any "compromise" for something I've had no issue with for 10+ years.

The use of the word “eliminate” in this context should really freak out more than just those of us he’s seeking to remove, to be honest. This should be a red flag so big that it’s visible from space.

Sometimes if I’m like, chatting with some lay person I’ll just tell them aloud which venues have rejected my pitches that day, almost especially if I can tell they won’t understand what I’m saying, in part because … I dunno … gotta say the thoughts aloud sometimes. It’s all a lot! I just keep going.

Random thing I wanna say into the void here, yes I’m subtweeting someone but: A *central* pet peeve of mine is when media types misunderstand critiques of psychiatry as inherently Scientology or MAHA related — both groups would love you to think that tho. Bothers me journalists don’t grasp this.

I definitely hear you. Myself, I do try to reach as wide an audience as I can with most of my pieces on trans folks these days, however challenging-to-impossible this may often seem … Obviously writing for mainstream publications comes with hazards and downsides, which I try to deal with; it’s hard!

There’s a handful; I either write for them (or pitch them with no success yet) …

Like a lot of us who work in media who are trans/gnc, I find the whole situation deeply depressing! My gripe is with those running these transphobic magazines first and foremost, and then editors who are ‘just following orders,’ etc. My own career is basically a bust, at this point; I still try.
