State v. Demesmeb ruled ‘why don't you just give me a lawyer, dawg?’ isn’t clear enough. There’s ambiguity. Demesmeb may have been requesting a ‘lawyer dog’

This is not a moment to be celebrated. It is a moment in which to ask how a bill that was supposed to ban conversion practices was used by Labour as a means of ensuring the continuation of those same vile practices - and why the charities meant to represent us were complicit in Labour's pinkwashing.

I've spent years working towards a ban on conversion practices, hoping to see a bill published. Today, I just feel so profoundly sad. As many others have noted, the draft has a carve out for "healthcare" so broad it makes a mockery of the idea this is a 'ban'. 1/2

You had my agreement in the first ten words. The British solution to dangerously high temperatures is to establish an Office for Temperature Regulation (Oftempr). (They will end up lobbying for new oil drilling in the North Sea.)

Ok am going to do this but mostly just focus on trans rights. Phillipson reassures that the conversion bill will be published ASAP and will be 'trans inclusive'. Hm.

Fossil fuel giants and their billionaire backers are boiling Britain. We need action to reduce emissions - but we also need emergency safety measures too. Cool spaces in every community and a maximum working temperature. It's time for Government to step in.

Reading this article whilst sitting in my house with the blinds closed and the fan on because it is 35 degrees outside, learning that the General Secretary of my trade union still wants *more* oil refineries, and *more* oil & gas drilling in the North Sea.

2/ It’s up to individual trans prisoners in Scotland to sue. I do not know if they have community support in any form. They are eligible for Scottish legal aid, which is not gatekept by the (hate group) EHRC as in England. But if they can’t obtain legal aids, the case can go straight to Strasbourg.

This looks like being an important piece of legislation to become familiar with. If someone harasses you, alarms you or distresses you in the toilets or just outside, they could be committing a criminal offence.

This is only the beginning. The climate crisis is here. So why are politicians and most of the media still acting as though this can wait? It can't. We can still avoid some of the worst impacts - but only if we find the courage to act.

The respondent’s counsel wasn’t ineffective. They have evidence that some prisoners suffer actual harm, but the judge simply used a sleight of hand and changed their argument to focus on safety and risk. Vile.

Scotland is facing a wave of applications for hyperscale data centres. If the 24 announced so far were approved they'd take up more than 1.5 times Scotland's peak demand in electricity. We need an immediate pause until a clear national strategy is set out. 👉
