Saw an idiot driving around today with the back of his SUV done up in grease marker, saying the rapture was happening today and he was going to heaven. MF'er - if you actually believed you'd ascend while driving that vehicle, then it is going to careen around driverless and kill someone.

the funny thing about the constant misappropriation of MLK is that the guy left a massive body of writing specifically aimed at explaining his views of those of the movement he represented to the broad public. it is extremely easy to know what the guy thought on a variety of subjects and yet

There is no world in which it is normal for the president to publicly call upon his attorney general to hurry up and prosecute his political foes. It’s like the Watergate tapes but posted on social media. Let’s get a grip on what’s happening here.

1. Telling trans people that even if Democrats won't protect us we should be selfless and vote for them to protect other people is a shitty thing to say. Asking for our rights and calling out Dems when they won't support us doesn't help fascists. Tell Democrats to support and defend us instead.

As usual with this issue, Harris is calling for a compromise that already exists. Every sporting body has standards for how long athletes must be on hormones before they can compete as women. The problem isn’t that we’re ignoring ‘reasonable concerns,’ the problem is that republicans are lying.

"We are going to have to live here with each other" is the exact premise that Republicans do not agree about. Their proposition is mass immiseration, mass expulsion and mass murder. The only way to oppose political violence and avoid further political violence is to contend directly with that fact.

Also: The Third Reich didn't last a 1,000 years...because of a horrific war and tremendous sacrifice. Pinochet lasted decades - and there were many horrors in those years. He's got a point: it's not over and done. But turning back the tide might come with some very heavy costs.

look, it is comforting to think that your political opponents are, at the end of the day, just people like you who really want us all to live together as Americans. it's just very obviously not *true* in MAGA's case, as you can tell through, well, what they say and do.

The basic problem here is that fascists do not want to live with you. This all presupposes democratic politics that they do not want to practice. There will be no reciprocity here, and if you act as if there will be if you avoid calling them fascists and venerate their martyrs, you‘ll get crushed.

If the right *truly* believed Charlie Kirk was a defender of free speech and someone who was fine with dissenting opinions, they wouldn't be engaged in a massive campaign to punish anyone who didn't "mourn him properly." They clearly know all of that is bullshit. Only the media was conned.

Claiming that routine immunization requirements for school are an issue of parental rights dehumanizes children. Kids have intrinsic rights just as anyone, and parents are obligated to provide the best care possible for them. That includes providing them with indicated medical interventions.
