The absurd SCOTUS immunity decision must be ignored. Legislation or amendments must be passed to codify that blatant corruption like this is (obviously) illegal. These are crimes against us all.

Probably should be a bigger deal that the Trump Administration used taxpayer dollars to host a Christian Nationalist event in the nation's capital, but, nah.

Critics of Sunday's "Rededicate 250" event said it portrayed the United States inaccurately as a Christian nation and sought to erase the line between church and state.

Here's a graph showing interest payments from 1792 to present. The US has a problem, stemming from historically high primary deficits coupled w/ interest rates that have somewhat rebounded. But if we hadn't done the Bush and Trump tax cuts, we wouldn't: the high primary deficits come from tax cuts

This is a calamity. You can’t out-vote a gerrymander. We’ve seen this time and again. The end result here will be that elections are no longer capable of changing the makeup of our government. We’ll have minoritarian rule by the oligarchs, and change becomes impossible through peaceful means.

King Charles' to Congress: “Magna Carta is cited in at least 160 Supreme Court cases since 1789, not least as the foundation of the principle that executive power is subject to checks and balances.” It's pretty telling when the KING OF FUCKING ENGLAND needs to remind our legislature of this.

The Supreme Court's Republicans just gutted the Voting Rights Act, severely weakening democracy. By 2028, Republicans could erase many VRA congressional seats and entrench state legislative supermajorities across the South—and oust Black, Latino, & Native officials from local governments nationwide

This:is 💯 correct. The vast majority of Section 2 litigation (and settlements made under the threat of litigation) have been at the local level. Callais will gut minority representation in city councils, county supervisors, and school boards across the county.

The Voting Rights Act is essentially dead and it’s quite possible that we will, like when a similar SCOTUS gutted civil rights at the fall of Reconstruction, see a disappearance of much of the Black congressional representation, especially in the most heavily Black states, which are in the South.
