I'm tired. My dad is stable, for now. Going to steal some hours of sleep and hope he's ok in the morning, so I can sit with him, hold his hand, tell him I love him again.

My dad opened his eyes and responded to the sound of my voice and squeezed my hand twice, purposefully in negation, when I asked if he was in pain. He knows I'm here with him. I can't ask for anything else.

Regardless of how any of us felt about Kirk, it is *devastating* that his kids and wife will never see him again. That's a horrifying, traumatic thing for anyone to go through, and I do hope they hang in there. Kindness, not violence, should be our aim in life, always.

I have really great students this year. Came back on to say that. I really, really do. Each individual class is great, the Class of 2029 is fantastic, my Honors section are wonderful humans, I'm very lucky to have these particular students in my classes.
