I think 90 times out of a hundred “hey why did this innocuous thing become a huge weirdly aggro deal” is because whatever that innocuous thing was happened to intersect with at least three lowkey but bitter divisions that will make no sense to anyone who is not dipped to their neck in at least one.

It's sometimes shocking to see the synthetic, heartless hate/greed machine grinding on like this. You know its always happening, and you see bits and pieces throughout your day, but having all corners lined up and framed like this is, is somehow...scarier.
