Interestingly, the photos of him pre-fame in the book are captioned "Steve", his years of stardom are captioned "Cat", his post-conversion photos of non-music moments captioned "Yusuf" and photos of him *performing* post-conversion don't mention his name in the caption.

Incidentally, I've been referring to "Cat Stevens" in my skeets. I'm not deadnaming him -- for the last few years he's been using that name again as he's been reclaiming his past. While his legal name is now Yusuf Islam, his autobiography, for example, is credited to "Yusuf/Cat Stevens"

Never connected this before as it's always, always been popular in the UK, but as Jim Henson's Labyrinth is kind of "our generation's" Wizard of Oz... It makes a cruel kind of sense that it was a big old flop on initial release only to become beloved over time.

It's just so *weird*. If she's being held back by the administration she'd brief. If she wanted a better job she'd try not to prove herself incompetent. It feels like there's a piece of information we're not privy to

My version of this is that at my school it was common "knowledge" that the Harry Potter characters Dean Thomas and Hannah Abbott were in fact real people who had won a competition to be included as characters in the book. It's not remotely true, I have no idea where this came from or why.

Really sorry to hear loss of 2 actors, featured in

early in their careers. Tina Packer was Anne Travers in The Web of Fear. Also in the story was Derek Martin who was Mitchell in Image of the Fendahl. Does a great stunt in Ambassadors of Death, holding on by his fingertips over a weir.

RIP Tina Packer. I hadn’t seen her in anything other than Doctor Who, but her appearance as Anne Travers was one of the highlights of The Web of Fear. I’d have loved to have seen her become a regular. A precursor to Liz Shaw.

Right, there's renewed discourse about John Barrowman on GB, that seems to be focusing on: You see nudity in acting and showbusiness is "different" from a normal job. So, I went off on one, possibly daftly considering the time, but here's my early AM thoughts on why those are bad faith arguments.

You couldn't make this today. Because the entire premise depends on the idea that modern police are less sexist, racist and corrupt than they were in the 70s. I think people would buy the coma time travel more now.
