As an English person from the same kneck of the woods of Bellingham who is also mixed race and English he is absolutely English - more specifically Brummie - and I’m tired of this shtick which he wouldn’t get if he were white Enough. Meet more Brummies or get out of the journalist kitchen.

Proper shook me up that experience, I was genuinely upset and have never forgotten it. Thankfully I had so many kind, lovely followers and friends both online and in real life who knew the score. But it was a real eye-opener on how these things can spiral so quickly.

Not so fondly remembering the horrendous time on Twitter I was falsely accused of being a transphobe, simply because I suggested Chris Chibnall was "living rent free" in her head in reply to some negative Dr Who tweets. Complete with daughter leading an online pile-on. Blocked to infinity. Nasty.

I will be blunt, at the point you are asking “but why should Labour MPs stop using a product owned by someone who endorses their own murders?”…you’d think “self-respect” would be on there.

The government leaving would pull media attention to where they went, and mean that the day to day debate not shaped there. It would also mean the government could argue that PL clubs, who have committed to kicking racism out of the stands, not tolerate swimming in it online.

I'm having the same reaction - as I'm sure a lot of us are. I met Justin at Warwick University in 1982 - 44 years ago - and he's been one of my closest friends ever since. He and I and Craig Hinton used to go drinking in the small wine bar on the second floor of the Student Union. Now it's just me.

Quite a few people in the Cabinet have IMV disgraced themselves in a way that should make Andy Burnham go 'nope, sacking you' and Reeves is very high up that list. Present at the scene of the crime almost as frequently as Starmer himself!

As Dov notes in this excellent thread, this is a cross-party, pan-UK failure, BUT: in particular one of the things I will never understand about Keir Starmer is that he did nothing on this. They literally organised an arson attack on *his house*! Members of his family live there!

Saying someone “hung around too long” the day their tragically early death was announced is a level of callous evil I struggle to comprehend. A sheer refusal to recognize the people you are talking about as human beings instead of rhetorical points.

The online critic who posted this edgelord shit about someone whose death has been announced and whose many contributions to Doctor Who are justly celebrated, might want to reflect on who has squandered chances, whose work is disposable, and who like a lurking troll has been hanging around too long.

I like to think that this was the result of team Burnham bringing Nandy in for a chat about her promotion, assuring her that this was all a formality of course, asking her to name one big accomplishment during her time at DCMS and the atmosphere palpably changing in the awkward silence that followed

Mahmood has gone full on Blue Labour. It’s Mail-focused cruelty designed for a hoary-handed demographic of working class hero voters that exist only in Maurice Glasman’s deranged mind. She’s clearly setting Burnham up. I hope he realises this and tells her to do one. If be doesn’t, he’s screwed

Justin Richards was one of the key figures of the Wilderness Years, as a prolific and reliable writer and by curating what might be the high point of Doctor Who literature with the mid to late EDAs. All that while being a total gentleman you never heard a bad word about. A genuine loss to Who.
