I just finished “The Listeners” by Maggie Stiefvater. It’s about a West Virginia hotel housing Axis diplomats during WWII. And about the haunted waters that lie beneath it. And the woman who understands them. As usual, Stiefvater draws complicated characters and unexpected stories. Very satisfying.
