Re: ICE "evacuating" the Broadview facility I am hearing from some folks that ICE made a similar claim about a facility in Portland (that it was winding down operations) that was basically a fake out, with normal operations resuming there before long, so we are going to have to be vigilant.

A protester who was detained for about five hours last night tells me they were slapped and called “f****t” (among other names) and were repeatedly slapped inside after being thrown to the ground/maced while being detained. They say an agent inside mentioned Broadview had deported a citizen.

Working to independently confirm this if we can. Broadview mayor Katrina Thompson told us she hadn’t been informed of the plans. ICE, CBP and DHS officials didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on the report.
