Update: My wrist is a bit sore & tender today. I did pump out 12 copies yesterday, which was a lot of work. Might need to take it easy or else PAX U will be rough. 😅🩹

Got the final ingredients needed to really get production of Fold & Fly! into high gear before PAX Unplugged. 🌈🛫 Now just gotta get printing & gluing!

Coupon Clipper is going to be at PAXU! Copies of it'll be sold at the Indie Games Night Market, alongside @drawnonward.bsky.social's Fold & Fly! The game has had a very rocky life, but I'm excited that at least a handful of copies will be able to reach people.

Day 3 of @sdhistcon.bsky.social is a wrap, and my final day at the con unfortunately. Had a lovely time as always and already excited to get back next year. Played some superb games throughout the event with some of the best people around!

Gamedesigners (and also editors/publishers)! Please show off your prototype workshops and tools. I am especially interested in solutions for precise cutting a ton of cards, for cutting/punching round tokens and storing components. Currently looking at rollcutters as my current solution is ... 🎲✂️

Spring Cleaning has been *the* card shedding game my group has gone back to over and over. Super excited it has a new version and hoping I love all the updates this has. 👻🐭

Just ordered lamination pouches to create a limited run of “deluxe” copies of Resilience — these will include laminated sheets, dry erase markers, and dice, all packaged in a poster tube, only for sale at Indie Games Night Market!

Got to try out @gregisonthego.bsky.social's IGNM release the other day, Resilience! Highly recommend giving this a look at PAX U when it releases. One thing I am enamored with about this game is the kind of dialogues it can start about community prep work.Great work Greg, thanks for sharing!

Pleasantly productive week. Got two new games to the table: - A pickup & deliver trick taker - a racing game that uses a component I have never seen in a board game before Both went great! Way better than most first drafts. 🎉 Did you get any playtesting done this week? Tell me about your games!

Over the past 6 months or so I've been using cheap, foldable pizza boxes for my prototypes. They are a bit flimsy but handy for organizing new games quickly, and stack flat very well. What kind of boxes do you use for your prototypes? Is there a cheap but more sturdy alternative I should look into?

Sometimes I reread playtesting feedback and my notes are amusing without context. Some highlights: maybe no one wants to go home? losing player decides truth? i *think* i like books? need to incentivize more cheating

How could I miss this one! The Flatout crew + the incredibly handsome @rf-seattle.bsky.social have been such a fantastic teamup. Original Cascadia is such a pleasant game, and I bet @flatoutgames.bsky.social were firing on all cylinders for a followup! Check this one out!

A shame this happens to some of our best & brightest designers. Starting the conversation and talking in the open is how we make steps towards fair solutions to these problems. Or at least that's the theory - in practice publishers need to play ball to make any of this stick.

Realized me & a codesigner been working on one project (Punch) for a year now! Game is awesome, kind of frustrating it isn't greenlit still - but they've already paid us some dollars so that helps.

Another cool thing I was able to do for Fold & Fly! was commission an illustrator. Their work is on some of the components, but the real show-stopper was their work on the cover - which is vibrant, colorful & just plain gorgeous! 😍

A game about coinflipping as an esport has no right to be this enjoyable. But number go up! 🪙
