I mostly shop at local indie bookstores, but when I need something quick it isn't unheard of that I'll go to B&N. Sadly, this is the nail in the coffin. Unfortunate, as I have many great memories of hanging out at the local B&N since childhood.

This game might be in my Top 10. I love it a lot.

Waypoints is the Postmark game I’m most proud of. Both Dan’s review, and the top comment on the article, are great answers for the times when I question what I’m doing. Heart is full this morning.

Reading Angel Down, I was super confused by a portion of its run-on sentence, but I figured, hey, dislocation is its author's technique... ...except I've now realized a ton of the pages are out of order in my copy.

My daughter loves this game so much that she is designing her own protocols. She insists that because I know the designer (sorta), I should send him her favorite creation. What's the consensus, is this a breach of professional (pardon me) protocol?

Perhaps you missed this last evening: REBUILDING CHICAGO excels in many spheres. As a drafting game, as a race, as a dual-layered puzzle with polyominoes.

I didn’t have many board games as a kid, owing to a family that halfway believed there were demons trying to claw their way into the human realm through children’s entertainment. But the moment the commercial for Forbidden Bridge flickered onto the television set, I knew I had to have it.

My kiddos have been taking cooking and sewing classes, and the best part is that I get to reap the benefits. Such as this shirt my 12yo made from the old Corvids mat from @dvcgames.bsky.social. They insist I wear it to today's school function. I do so proudly.

Aquamarine is the second title from Postmark Games, and it's remarkable if only for using two dice instead of Voyages' three. It offers another novel movement puzzle, and while I don't like it quite as much as the first, it's still wholly rewarding. My review: spacebiff.com/2026/05/11/a...

After reading @danthurot.bsky.social 's review of Toy Battle, I ordered it fairly quickly. The setup and teach was quick, the gameplay and tactility was fantastic, and kiddo won by one point. We loved it, excited to play it more!

Regicide Legacy is almost the opposite of its progenitor, a premium-all-the-way product with a sprawling campaign. I found it exhausting — and thrilling. My review: spacebiff.com/2026/05/05/r...

My 6yo woke me up (very) early to play her board game. You must understand, I am very proud of her. And so happy that she's so enthusiastic. But also, couldn't this have waited for the morning alarm? (No, obviously.)
