Still on vacay and rocking a play of @allplay.bsky.social’s Oddland. As the name implies, an odd tile layer but the mandatory placement of one of your scoring pawns make it an interesting puzzle of utility and diminishing possibilities.

Fam, Ayar is beautiful but WEIRD. I found our first play more academically interesting than outright fun, but that seems more my own preference than anything else. It’s original, has lots to experiment with, and it feels like you can really “big brain” your strategy. @ospreygames.bsky.social

Just finished Tapestry of Fate by @shannonchakraborty.bsky.social. The Adventures of Amina al-Siraffe continues to be my favorite new fantasy series in years, with book two proving the author’s continued creativity. There were some lulls in the excitement in the middle, but the overall arc landed.

Happy that Juneau was warm enough to finally get the garden bed cleaned out and flowers put up. For veggies in back we got tomatoes, carrots and peppers set up in the greenhouse, potatoes on the side and we're trying our hands at broccoli, cabbage and asparagus this year.

Yokohama is one of those games that was huge when it came out but doesn’t get as much attention these days. The edition put out by Synaspses is elegant without being ostentatious and is easily one of my favorite euros.

Holy crap, second watch of Everything Everywhere All at Once hit me much more on an emotional level. I think the first time (while enjoyable) I was overwhelmed by the absurdity, whereas this time I could focus on the narrative core.
