Medici: The Card Game plays a lot like Medici: The Dice Game but looks a whole lot better. Had a great time with both.

Got to try the Lords of the Rings Duel for Middle Earth - Allies expansion. Easy to add in but adds some fun trickery you can pull off. Last night Sauron was facing imminent defeat but my Nazgûl King swooped in unexpectedly and provided the last ring needed to run down the filthy hobbitses.

Off With Their Heads! By @druidcitygames.bsky.social is my favorite new addition to the X and write category of games. This one uses a form of blind trick taking using a beautiful custom 52 card deck. Wish the icons on the sheets were just a little bigger for legibility but loved it regardless!

Rubber, Paper, Scissors includes the following mechanisms: Rock, Paper, Scissors, tic-tac-toe, and set collection. Somehow was very, very fun.

$15 is a steal. This game has created some of my favorite memories around the game table. Gotta play that period music with the period cocktails.

Medici The Dice game shows that a roll and write can be very, very interactive. Simple and excellent.

Played Nature by @dcrapuchettes.bsky.social tonight. A streamlined version of the modern classic Evolution. This game has a kick to it.

Reforest is the biggest game I’ve ever played with a deck of cards. This is 100% a compliment.

Played Aquaria by the designer of S.E.T.I. It’s not as good theme or production wise. It’s about as average mechanism wise.

The new board in Euphoria: Essential Edition by @stonemaiergames.com is significantly less cluttered than the original and it did meet the target goal of making it easier to teach. A few other rules changes as well that all feel positive. Overall a nice update to streamline a quirky, fun game.

Just played Grand Austria Hotel. A game I love but I can’t deny that it’s hard to be enthusiastic about something that looks like this after playing Speakeasy.

Speakeasy might be the best production I’ve ever seen in a board game. Just beautiful.

Boast or Nothing continues its reign as my favorite modern trick-taker.

Manhattan Project: Energy Empire may be my favorite mid-weight worker placement game in a very crowded field. The original production was great. The new production is great. Either are great.

March of the Ants: Evolved Edition is an underrated entry in the 4x category….with the right mix of modules and game length (4 rounds is plenty!)

Late night filler… Lorenzo Il Magnifico. Still rocked even though I got absolutely crushed.

Ankh was shockingly fun on my 5th play of it. Maybe it was because I dominated. Yeah, that was it. Not maybe.

Alibis has some of the coolest original villain designs ever and it’s just a party game. Too bad it’s co-op. Still fun though.

Fromaggio adds some great new mini-games to the Fromage formula. Loved it and I’ll be adding it into my Fromage mix.
