Just finished the best escape room in a box style game I’ve ever played. The Morrison Game Factory designed by Lauren Bello and published by @postcurious.bsky.social was thematic and surprisingly heart-warming with great puzzles and production.

I made it to my local game night for the first time in many weeks last night. We played Welcome To and Fearsome Floors. These two light little gems made for a surprisingly satisfying evening.

Nokosu Dice deserves the hype it’s been getting. A very tricky trick taker with a dice draft to fill out your hand. Loved it!

Kingsburg still hits hard. A rare good looking euro from 2007 era. One of the better dice placement mechanisms. We played with a couple expansion modules tonight and it was a blast to revisit.

Pirates of Maracaibo is a fantastic tableau/engine builder with great choices, fun turns, and a brisk playtime. Right at the top of my favorite Pfister games.

I really like the game Galactic Cruise but the least thematic thing about it is how company meetings are increasingly productive if more people attend them.

Got to try Everdell Duo today. Smaller footprint and quicker playtime than OG Everdell. A couple cute twists on the Everdell systems to make it a little more head to head. I liked it. Do I need both? No. Am I look forward to revisiting Duo. Absolutely.

Lost Ruins of Arnak continues to impress me. Complex enough to be challenging but simple enough to be approachable. How does it walk that tightrope so well?

We terraformed the crap out of Mars tonight.

One of my favorite parts about Civolution is this sideboard that’s mostly there to help you navigate the phases of the game round. Would love to see this more in games with complex rounds.

Picked up two expansions for $17. Wouldn’t mind seeing more expansions this size even for larger games.
