It's a head scratcher (but appreciated) the # of Likes my photo from Zion National Park got. Random people liking it - very cool. I'm interested in how the Bluesky algorithm put it in front of people. That aside, I was planning to post a pic a day sharing my new ❤️ for Southern Utah. Such as: Arches.

I've played maybe 1 #boardgames in the past 3 weeks ... been on vacation. Brought Cascadia (and Up or Down? and Azul Travel) which got played once. However, not too sad. Had a wonderful experience trekking the Mighty 5 national parks in southern Utah, and several state parks.

With good pricing, I sold these #boardgames through BGG & local game group in a week: Hallertau - not played, theme looked clunky Scythe - wanted mech area control, got action efficiency race. Can play others' copyies Courtisans - like the idea of it but the play was just OK. Not enough zhuzsh

Maybe a #boardgames hot take, but Scythe is just "ok." After 3 yr absence, played 3p game, kicking off the Fenris campaign expansion. It's a race efficiency game. Get out your 6 stars, instant game over, and you probably won. About 3/4 through, I ran out of interesting things to do. Onto sell pile.

We played On Mars' Alien Invasion, Chapter 2, aka "Pandemic On Mars," and like Chapter 1, it was underwhelming. Maybe the 2 variable win conditions were too easy. There was some tension with how the virus spread but general agreement that core game is much more fun. Onto trade/sell pile. #boardgames

On Mars: Alien Invasion expansion's Chapter One was underwhelming. The Alien player was bored between rounds and his actions were so incrementally small he felt frustrated. As players, it was fine. Didn't feel particularly tense. 🙁 #boardgames
