Played our 1st game of Praga Capvt Regni by Vladimir Suchy. It's a medium-heavy w/ a lot of mechanics you want to synergize (combo-tastic). Love the action selection wheel. Build upgrades, wall tiles, city tiles. Get eggs. Go up 6 different tracks. 8/10 - looking forward to next play. #boardgames

Played Dice Hospital, a light-med #boardgames that was surprisingly more fun than expected. You're drafting dice to manipulate their value to 7+ using hospital rooms and specialists that change the number in different ways. Fun theme, lots of add-on modules, and puzzly enough to not be boring.

This past weekend was Baconfest in Easton, PA. My 💘 & I enjoy food festivals & this one is an annual tradition. Probably the best one in recent years too! We ate * Mac 'N Cheese w/ 🥓 * Dirty Dog (hot dog with Fluff and 🥓) * Cannoli Cake [no 🥓] * Hot chocolate infused w/ 🥓 * Corn chowder w/ 🥓 #bacon

Watched 'Underwater', starring Kristen Stewart, who I thought was excellent. Rare movie that starts with action and still manages to get you to care about the characters. It's a solid monster movie / disaster movie. Great sets. A few tropes but overall worth the watch. #horror

Played Galactic Cruise #boardgames by @kinsonkeygames.bsky.social again. I ❤️ this game: theme, pace, player interaction, card play, worker placement - it's all 💥🚀. A particular strength is you always feel like you're accomplishing something. I'm 🙏 that they'll have the original expansions at #PAXU.

I watched Color Out Of Space (2019) last night and really enjoyed it (B+). Pretty good adaptation; body horror and practical effects were creepy; and Nic Cage in the 'crazed' zone that we love. #horror

Went to 2025 NYCC. Appreciate it being Mecca for us geeks but wouldn't go again. Liked 'The Running Man' panel, the cosplay, all the great art. Didn't like the crowds and too much focus on merch. I'm not one to buy tchotchkes and my comic collecting days are long over. Some pics for y'all.

Those investigating the deep sea mining facility suffered Deep Madness. Lost Chapter 4 by running out of time. Amazed I managed to keep everyone alive until then. Played 6 handed solo - that was a bit of a slog. The game is about running and survival, not killing. Creepy art fun! #boardgames
