First Kenozia release party was amazing. So touched at how many people came out to support the zine. In times like these, community makes the difference. 🖤

Dog sat for one of my close friends yesterday, even though I’m still sick. She had surprised me with a little care basket 🥹. It really made my day. And I got plenty of dog snuggles in too.

This has been such a shitty week and it’s only Wednesday. Between Pa passing away on Monday night and grieving, and now the zines not being shipped and rearranging the release party, I just kind of want to collapse into a ball of nothing.

Well, it’s looking like I’m going to have to reschedule the release party bc the place I get my zines printed have not even shipped them yet. I’ve called and emailed them multiple times with no responses. I’ve never had a delay like this before. They’ve consistently arrived at their est delivery. 😔

Abolish ICE. Destroy their weapons and melt down their equipment. Deny their agents, employees, and bosses all government employment for all time. Remove the agency entirely from the budget and give the money to public libraries and free health care.

A sneak peak at the linocut prints I made for the cover of the winter issue of Kenozia. I carve each design out from a rubber block. Every cover has been made with this method so far and I am really enjoying it.

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports. And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.” Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

My StoryGraph 2025 wrapped is here. I did not hit my goal of 100 books this year, but honestly, I’m kind of sick of this strange competition to read as many books as you can, I think I’d rather enjoy what I read and just read what I can, when I can. Excited for what I read next year 📚

Looking back at 2025 and, although things sucked at times, there are a lot I’m proud of/ positive moments to celebrate: 1- started Kenozia, a local, print-only, quarterly art and literary zine. 🖌️ 2- went full time at the bookstore. 📚 3- got engaged. 💍 4- working out more consistently 🏃🏻‍♀️💪

Not sure I’ll be able to do another zine after this issue on my laptop. How often it freezes, overheats, & gives me the rainbow circle of hell 😭. I know my laptop is old but damn. I have a fundraiser started on my ko-fi page but not sure how to get attention to it. Everyone is struggling rn
