I have watched the footage of the shooting in Minneapolis. To me, she was frightened and trying to get away from a masked paramilitary force. What is absolutely certain is that shooting her was utterly disproportionate. No two ways about it - this was a murder.

There’s a million posts like this, but they are all saying the same thing. America, there are masked secret police on the streets of your country. They believe they are above the law and cannot be held to account. This is not tolerable in a modern democracy. Please do something about it.

It is shameful that the UK government is desperate to secure a trade deal with the USA, when everyone else is walking away. It comes from the pigheaded devotion to a failed Brexit, and attendant refusal to consider any re-integration with the EU. This is what happens when you alienate your friends.

Not only is this an excellent point to make, the next Democratic administration should do exactly this, and cite Trump’s actions as precedent.

This is incredible even for Trump. So the Supreme Court have ordered unanimously that the man must be returned, and they are not only defying that order, but gloating about it as well? Is ‘contempt of court’ not a thing in America? Or is Trump just above the law?

Even if Trump can be removed from office at the end of his term (and given what happened last time, that looks far from certain) it will take the USA decades to repair the damage.
