I did a panel earlier this year on character development, and the idea of "earned subversion," where there an "earned" payoff to keeping a characters traits very consistent for a long time, for the purpose of getting to make jokes way later on in their arc. This is my favorite example of this 😭😭

There's been some furore recently about another project, which coincidentally kicked off around the same time this one did, to "remaster" STC using AI on the old, low-res scans, but if that sentence alone isn't enough to put you off, I think this comparison kinda shows why you should keep clear.

The well intentioned efforts here, (always happy to see people making StC readily available) do introduce some inaccuracies. For example, Tails' face seems to be entirely redrawn in panel 2, Sonic's different in panel 3, merging his fingers and thumb together, with new shading added to his head.
