Common AI failure mode is to ask it for what you want in the end. One day that’ll be doable generally… only sometimes it works now. For now ask for code that generates what you want (where applicable). This is true for training ML models too… learn the DGP then transfer to other target/outcome.

Six weeks ago I predicted a very negative March jobs report. That report comes out Friday. I no longer think that we will see massive job losses in that report. I still think a recession is coming (and the markets seem finally to be coming to agree with that), but not as quickly as I first thought.

As bizarre as this seems, there are major limits to interdisciplinary work along these lines. A seminar I used to attend in grad school sometimes would spend the first 20 min of every talk asking the speaker to “justify the philosophical approach”. It’s tedious and unhelpful for learning.
