Don't mistake the promotion of Christian nationalism as merely a dog whistle to anti-Muslim voters (though it is that foul thing too). Many of these guys really believe in a re-Christianised state and society. Bad news is UK's existing Christian constitution gives them an easy way to do it in power.

If we want to inoculate ourselves against future Christian nationalist takeover then we need to take action now: end the heritage Christian parts of our state, from church establishment to Christian privilege, and build a inclusive national culture on our shared values and institutions.

There was a critical mass of normie (left/centre left) UK journalism / politics twitter moving across here en masse in a weekend, with lots of starter pack action. Not everyone stuck around and not everyone quit X, but it's given UK bluesky a v different feel from American bluesky.
